GrS had an opportunity to meet with select officials from the Kimberley/Cranbrook area to discuss sustainability, circular economy relating to the outdoor industry, and social enterprise. A big thanks to Kevin Pennock, Executive Director, KORE, for the invitation and for coordinating the visits, including ride-alongs with Don McCormick, Mayor of Kimberley, and Darren Brewer, Economic Development Officer, City of Cranbrook. Discussions were centred around possible collaborations with an objective of creating employment opportunities in the East Kootenay valley, specifically in support of circularity for outdoor gear.
